Simply delicious....

While I slowly (very slowly) work away on my miniature project I feel the need to keep my blog alive....and what better way to do that than show more delicious photos of Paris. These (like all the photos on my blog) are my own photos, I took just last year. I revisit my photos regularly (perhaps some times a little too often...lol!) but I hope you enjoy seeing more of what I believe to be (one of) the most beautiful cities in the world. Enjoy X

Paris....

I have been sitting here trying to think of what to write. I wanted to show you this amazing building that I think is simply beautiful. I might even say that it comes close to being a favorite of my....high praise indeed with all the truly wonderful buildings that Paris has to offer.....but I simply love everything thing that this stunning building has to offer, I hope you agree with me. Enjoy X.

My heart remains in Paris....

I think I drive my family mad on a daily basis with my talk of returning to Paris. I am constantly looking at my photos which I took on previous trips........but I do not know if they are a source of comfort or annoyance. Which ever way they might be for me, I hope you enjoy what I selected for you today.

Small progress is being made on my miniature 'florist / holiday accommodation'!!.....(wow, how's that for a hint...lol!!!).  I have acquired a huge bundle of 'strip wood'.....so no more excuses!!!

A huge thank you to those you left such lovely comments for my daughter and new son-in-law, be assured they have all been passed onto them.

Apricots, lemons, plums & cherries....

These little delights I have just recently purchased from the wonderfully talented Teresa Martinez. I was thrilled to bits when I opened the parcel, thank you so very much Teresa, I adore them!!!

A very quick thank you to those who have emailed me recently to see if I am still about.....the short answer is yes! The long answer is that my eldest daughter was married over the Easter. It was such a special day....who knew that weddings could be so emotional...wow!!! Of course the bride looked gorgeous and the groom was terribly hansome. I shall pop a photo on my blog when it comes to hand (that is if you are interested of course...lol!) Back into my miniatures soon....very soon!!!!

Simply stunning....

This stunning little chair is the most amazing thing I think I have ever seen!! It was made for me by the very talented Catherine of  http://kilmouskiandme.blogspot.com  It arrived this week and to say I am delighted is a total understatement! I hope my photos do justice to this piece...(but I sincerely doubt that they could)....I am so thrilled to have this little delight now in my collection.
Many many thanks (once again) to you Catherine...x

I must add....if you too would like one of these mini works of art (in the choice of your own fabric) please contact Catherine through the above link....you will NOT be disappointed.

Sewing box kit....

Kits offer so much satisfaction....and this sweet little sewing box kit which I completed recently was no exception. I am sure I will find a place (somewhere) for it in my new project. Gosh!!!!....I really must think of a better name than...'new project'!!!!

Enjoy your week-end. x

I'm a slow worker....but this is ridiculous!!!

I have had the plans drawn for my French "....."shop for well over 2 years (or more ?) but nothing happened. Finally the 'bug bit' and I got on with it. The shop front proved to be a challenge....it is one thing having the plans drawn in 1 dimension, but a totally different story to building it in 3 dimension. After a lot of head scratching and a few anxious moments (where I almost abandoned the project altogether) it all suddenly fell into place....and here is my progress thus far.
For one reason or another I was a little hesitant to show my progress at this stage, but as I said to a fellow blogger, if I don't....then I might as well close down my blog!! So here you have it!!! Lots and lots (and LOTS....sigh!) more to do, but I believe this to be a positive start!!
A big thank you to those who made contact with me regarding 'The House of Miniatures' wardrobe....sadly most (if not all) on eBay (for reasons I don't know) do not/will not send to Australia!!! Any way, I do believe I shall secure one very soon...thanks again!!

Sampler....

I bought this gorgeous little printed sampler at SIMP last year....and finally yesterday I made a frame for it. I love the detail of the sampler and I think it would make a very pretty addition to any miniature room
.
For those of you who very kindly ask about the 'next house'.....well what can I say?? I have the house (box) built and I have had the design drawn for the shop front...(yes, there is to be a shop)...for well over 2 years now, but sadly nothing more!! My iPad is full of photos I use for inspiration and I have collected many many miniatures, but none-the-less it all sat idle. BUT...this week as if by magic (or was that Catherine constantly willing me on?) I have started the shop and thoroughly enjoyed every mitre cut I made. The shop front is now finished...but not painted...and I am thrilled with it and happy to say that my enthusiasm has returned!! I am not to sure as to when I will show my progress....but I am happy to say that (finally) there is progress!!!

Thank you Didier....

Once again I return to Paris, if only in my heart. I was so exciting to receive this photo unexpectedly last night that I just had to share it with you. This gorgeous photo was sent to me of the coffee shop where we went each and every morning. With the snow falling in Paris it has turned this charming little shop into a Winter wonderland. Didier sent me this photo from his iPhone, "who is Didier" I hear you ask.....he is the man who would make our morning coffee, serve us our afternoon drinks and who we chattered to each day and who became one of our lovely memories of a fabulous time in Paris
Thank you Didier.....to see photos such as this makes my heart beat a little faster and the longing to returns becomes a little greater.
